Guided by the principle that universities are a public good, we are committed to fulfilling our social responsibility, strengthening our contributions to the local community and society at large, and enhancing academic support for disadvantaged students. In alignment with our positioning and talent development goals, and in pursuit of the ideals of deep-rooted higher education, we have established four major institutional development objectives for 2018–2022: 1. Elevate Teaching Quality and Enhance Student Employability Through transformative teaching content and methods, we aim to boost student motivation and cultivate the capacity for self-directed learning. By offering interdisciplinary learning opportunities and problem-based curriculum modules, we equip students with the immediate employability and adaptability needed to thrive in an intensely competitive digital future. 2. Build Institutional Distinctiveness and Develop Interdisciplinary Innovation Talent at the Intersection of Smart Technology and Fashion By mastering the creative dimensions of fashion and the practical applications of technology, we nurture students' cross-disciplinary capabilities, fostering intelligence and innovation. Through diverse experiential learning and our New Southbound deepening initiatives, students develop multilingual communication skills along with international and multicultural perspectives. 3. Cultivate a Culture of Care and Strengthen Modern Civic Literacy On one hand, through comprehensive guidance and support for disadvantaged students, we aim to improve their academic outcomes — helping them study with peace of mind, build professional competencies, and secure employment upon graduation — ensuring that every dollar of subsidy effectively empowers upward mobility. On the other hand, by integrating theory with practice, we strengthen general education across modern civic competencies, elevating students' awareness and engagement as citizens. 4. Fulfill Social Responsibility and Realize Sustainable Development Leveraging the professional expertise of our faculty and students, we proactively identify local needs and challenges, encouraging students to step into the community, experience the sense of being needed, and put the university's social responsibility into meaningful practice.
