Department Introduction

To support the development of the tourism industry, our school's existing Department of Tourism Management has established nearly ten years of collaborative experience with local hotels and other catering establishments, providing students with excellent internship opportunities and cultivating a significant number of professionals who have entered the local tourism and catering industry, earning an excellent reputation. Based on this foundation, in the 2012 academic year, we added one class to the four-year technical college daytime program and one class to the five-year vocational college program. In the 2013 academic year, we added two classes to the four-year technical college daytime program, one class to the five-year vocational college program, and one continuing education class. This will train excellent professionals for the local catering industry; increase opportunities for interaction with the industry; and create an internationally competitive professional catering internship environment to cultivate students into senior catering management and decision-making professionals with an international perspective, professionalism, creativity, and information literacy. Furthermore, it will support the provision of continuing education opportunities for employees of catering establishments in northern Taiwan, improving the professional quality of catering professionals. Hsinchu is Taiwan's first science and technology city, boasting renowned high-tech electronics and biotechnology industries, making it a must-visit city for international business and tourism travelers. Our school is geographically located near the intersection of the Second Northern Freeway and the High Speed Rail, offering convenient transportation between the north and south. Nearby hotels include Ambassador Hotel, CTBC Hotel, Howard Plaza Hotel, Grand Hotel, Carlton Hotel, Lakeshore Hotel, Parisian Hotel, and Sheraton Hotel in Zhubei, attracting a large number of tourists and consumers. This provides significant benefits to the curriculum, off-campus visits, off-campus internships, and future employment of students in our Department of Food and Beverage Management.
